Gallery Tom Vaulks
I was born and educated in Easington Colliery and have lived in Houghton-le-Spring for the past 45 years.
In 1996 I was diagnosed as having throat cancer and had two major operations which meant having to retire from my job with Sunderland City Council.
To occupy my time I went to college and started watercolour painting then progressed to acrylic and oils.
Other hobbies which followed were mounting and framing my own paintings then woodcarving and woodturning.
I have had Exhibitions at Washington WWT, Seaton Holme Discovery Centre in Easington Village, The National Trust at Gibside and Durham University Botanical Gardens.
I have also displayed in various venues as part of Hetton and Houghton Art Clubs.
